Both kids went to the doctor the past two weeks. Kenley had her first set of vaccinations (which made her scream something terrible) and two month check up. The doctor says she is perfect. Of course, as with Liam, we already knew she was. She is off the charts for length at 24 inches and in the 65th percentile for weight at 11 lbs. 6 oz. Kenely has been waking around the same times each night to eat. Some nights she skips the midnight feeding and for those nights, I am grateful.
Liam had his 15 month appointment last week. He did not cry nearly as much as Kenley did and was quickly comforted by his blanket and grandma. He is also at the top of the charts for height at 34.25 inches and in the 75th percentile for weight at 27 lbs. The doctor also noted his meaty thighs (which I love more than anything), his super long eyelashes and his big feet! Liam had a few rough nights and slept on Les in the living room rather than his crib. We are not sure if it was the molar and two incisors that are still trying to break through or if it was something else, but he just needed a few nights of extra loving and his dad was happy to give it to him.
Both kids are doing great, happy and healthy. I feel like some days are better than others as far as having two kids under two. It is a lot to handle and some days I feel like I can hardly keep my head above water. Other times I have cleaned the house, done all of the laundry, have dinner ready and Kenley bathed and napping when Les gets home from work. These days are usually about once a week. The hardest thing I struggle with is giving time and attention to Liam. I feel like I talk to him while nursing rather than being able to play with him all day like I used to, and that is something I miss. I do look forward to the days when Kenley can play with him or at least sit in her bumbo and watch while he and I play for a bit. The best is yet to come, this I am sure of.
