Liam turned eight months old on Valentines Day. We ran some errands, went to the bookstore so he could pick out some touch-and-feel books (his favorite) and spent lots of time playing.
Liam has started to do the following things this past month,
- Claps hands on command, and sometimes just to show off
- says ba-ba-ba (no meaning, just babbling), says ma-ma (this one I think he is starting to understand)
- Tries to be louder than the garbage disposal, food processor, running bath water by squealing and banging or splashing. This is really funny to watch.
- Army crawls all over the place. I am always cleaning the floors because he can find the smallest piece of string and pick it up.
- Loves standing up. We "walk" around all day and if you sit down next to him, he pulls himself up on you and wants you to help him stand.
- Started eating more solid pieces of food. Blueberries, cheese, cheerios, puffs, yogurt melts, banana and kiwi are some of his favorites.
- Sleeping much better. Goes to bed at 9:00 and wakes around 4:30 to eat then back to bed until 8:00/8:30. Sometimes he wakes up around 1:00 and cannot get himself back to sleep so one of us will go in and rock him back to sleep.
- Becoming such a flirt. Men and women always stop and say how cute he is, but when a woman talks to him for a second, he really gets her with big smiles and some clapping. Starting a little too early for Mama.
- Loves music. Stops whatever he is doing to see where it is coming from. Especially loves Mickey Mouse Clubhouse songs.
He doesn't see the doctor for another month, so I am not sure how much he weighs or how tall he is. What I do know is that he has started wearing 12 month clothes. Shorts can still be 9 months but he is so dang tall that 9 month pants look like clamdiggers on the kid. I am sure that he is still at the top of the charts for height but I think his weight has evened out a bit more.
"Pictures again, mom?"
"You asked for it!"
Checking out his Valentines Day loot.
"Thanks for the card guys."
Valentines Day smooches from dad.
