Month of Milestones

The month of December has been full of milestones for my kids. Liam turned 18 months old and Kenley is now five months old. Liam seems like such a little boy. He says all kinds of things and imitates everything we do.
Here are a few things Liam has been doing...
Says choo-choo, RAWR (when you ask him what a tiger does). Makes a clicking sound with his tongue when he hears the blinker go on in the car. He has been repeating words we use daily like fish, bath, pretzel and milk. He knows and says shoes - then runs to the door because he knows we are leaving, "uh-oh" when he drops something, says "ow" when he hurts himself, says "Sis" and can point to her picture when saying it. He figured out how to climb onto the barstool and up onto the counter in a matter of five seconds. He also figured out that the barstool can fall backwards and he can hit his chin on the counter on his way down. He feeds Maya her breakfast every morning. He helps give Kenley a bath every night. He knows a routine and brings me everything I need for her bath, washcloth, shampoo, another washcloth, her brush, another washcloth and her vitamins. As you can see, he is very helpful. I love this age, but I could do without the Evil Knievel dare-devil side of him. He is currently sporting two massive bruises on his forehead from seperate events and bruises on his shins as well as scratches on his knees. Les reminds me everyday that there will be worse injuries on him and he is "just a boy". Truer words were never spoken.

Sweet Kenley has been squaking away. She has started saying ma-ma, although she has no clue of the meaning, it sure is sweet to hear it. She smiles and laughs all of the time and still adores her big brother. She has been rolling to one side and then launching herself up into the air by using her feet. She loves her hands but shows no signs of teeth yet, which I am grateful for. She gets compliments on her big, blue eyes everyday and I am sure they will get her into trouble as well as get her out of trouble in the years to come. She also started "eating" rice cereal on Saturday and had a tiny taste of sweet potatoes on Sunday. She has become increasingly interested in the food she sees on our plates. I bought a sweet potato so I think I will make it for her this week and work our way into more foods. Such a big girl now!
